Airport Britto Fix

If after you arrive in Miami you anticipate a bigger rush than having to wait for arriving luggage, stop by Romero Britto's newest shop in MIA for a dose of Pop!

On a recent trip to Miami, Florida, I was more than pleasantly surprised to discover that the Miami International Airport plays host to a stunning and rather brilliant shop in Concourse D dedicated to one of my favourite pop artists of our decade, Romero Britto.

Technically a neo-pop artist, Britto’s work is too colourful not to be missed.

Honestly, his public artwork is pretty much scattered all over Miami—from art installations in parks, to art sculptures on buildings 120 feet above ground level—so to say he is rather loved in Miami would be an understatement.

What's in Store

The shop, called Shop Britto in MIA, sells treasures worthy of any discerning collector or budding Britto enthusiast looking to inject colour into their life.

From the flamboyant artist expect affordable and easy-to-pack pieces that can travel home with you—like prints and whimsical t-shirts (Peace, Love, Miami), to teddy bear sculptures (shown) and coffee-table books.

Yes, there’s even a salt-and-pepper shaker.

With some original pieces from his collection and a plethora of reproductions, Shop Britto at MIA is not to be missed—and can’t be missed, unless you’re wearing sunglasses (it literally can’t be. I’m serious.)

And if you’ve already arrived, gone through security and missed Shop Britto? Not to worry: Romero Britto’s gallery, Britto Central, is located on Lincoln Road pedestrian mall near South Beach.
