Qwiki's Information Experience

Qwiki is a new online start-up that changes the way you can experience information.

There is a new start-up online that's making some big waves called Qwiki and because I managed to get an invite to the "Alpha" to play with this new and pretty interesting service I thought I would share it with you.

When you are researching where is one of the first places you go? Wikipedia, most likely. But what if we lived in the future and you wanted something along the lines of a sci-fi experience? Perhaps you don't want to just read and you want an entire multimedia experience. Well, this is where Qwiki comes in.

For instance, let's say you are planning a trip to Bermuda and to start your research you want to know a little bit about the island. In the upcoming months, you might think of Qwiki before Wikipedia.

Take a look at what Qwiki creates automatically (meaning it's an entirely computer generated experience, no human editors have touched this) by grabbing text, pictures and video from various sources and makes it in to a presentation. On top of that, they have plans to let publishers make Qwikis out of their content—for instance, up! could make qwikis based on our library of travel content (which would be very cool).

I, for one, am really excited to see where this goes. As it's in the very early stages there are still bumps to smooth out, but I am intrigued.
