This week's travel value tip comes from Mary Ann D about Waterton Lakes National Park:
Waterton Lakes National Park is snuggled into the far southwest corner of Alberta. It isn't crowded nor commercialized and there are so many things to do, like hiking and watching wildlife, that don't cost anything except your time and your park entrance fee. The campgrounds and accommodations are a little pricey but in comparison to other places, it is still a good value for the Waterton experience you get out of it.
Situated in the southwest corner of Alberta, Waterton Lakes National Park borders Montana's Glacial National Park and offers a wide-variety of activities.Outdoor enthusiasts can experience everything from cross country skiing and ice climbing in winter to summer hiking and camping. Special events, like the Butterfly Count and the Waterton Wildflower Festival, happen year-round. A selection of interpretive and educational programs are also offered to those interested in learning more about this national park.
