Canada Day celebrations across the nation

Don't miss all the festivities happening across the country

Vancouver

O Canada Day! on Granville Island

There's something for everybody on Granville Island. Start the day off with a pancake breakfast before participating in workshops like bicycle decorating and glass making. Don't forget to park yourself in good spot and cheer for the Canada Day Parade in the afternoon. Post-parade, relax and sway to live jazz. The only tough part of the day is trying to figure out where to fuel up: Lobsterman Cookout: Pie Fiesta or the Great Canadian BBQ.

Calgary

McMahon Stadium

Surround yourself with thousands of screaming fans at the Calgary Stampeders season-opener against the Montreal Alouettes.

Heritage Park Historial Village

Learn all about Canadian culture and the significant story of Western Canada's settlement. Get there early for the pancake breakfast before getting into family games and shows, a citizenship ceremony and birthday cake!

Toronto

Harbourfront Centre

Head over to the lake for the four-day bash that includes dance, culinary arts, comedy, storytelling, games, film, and music by Zaki Ibrahim, The Airplane Boys and Grammy-nominated Johnny Clegg.

Rogers Centre

Wrap yourself up in a Canadian flag while cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays, the only Major League Baseball team in Canada, who will be playing against the Los Angeles Angels. Don't miss the pre-game festival at noon.

Ottawa

Parliament Hill

Cover yourself in red and white for the biggest party in the country at Parliament Hill. Take it easy in the morning and afternoon with flag raising and changing of the guard ceremonies, cultural performances, speeches and strolling buskers. Get ready for concerts in the evening by Canadian artists: Feist, Simple Plan, Roch Voisine, Marie Mai, Jully Black, Misstress Barbara and Donny Parenteau. This is the ultimate birthday party.

Montreal

Old Port of Montreal

Spend the entire day with the family in Old Port of Montreal. Witness five new Canadian families being sworn, cheer with the Canadian Armed Forces marching band, and sing along to the national anthem. Cake will be served in the afternoon, kicking off festivities and entertainment that include: music and dance, inflatable village for the kids, buskers and a comedy show. Wrap up the day under fireworks with music by Canadian artists.
