Opened in May 2008, Kelowna’s Fairfield Inn & Suites is the company’s first foray into Western Canada, and targets both business travellers without an expense account and families looking for value without the budget sacrifices. The new, spacious suites deliver logical touches like separate TV areas—ideal spaces for impromptu boardrooms or playrooms. And no need to fret about scary bedspreads; only clean, white linens line the king- and queen-sized beds.
Each suite is equipped with a mini-fridge and microwave—as essential for a family vacation as the four-story spiral waterslide (the only one in town), that helps beat the Okanagan summer heat and amuse the kids in inclement weather. A huge bonus is the free “Early Eats” deluxe continental breakfast—a cost-saving oasis for parents whose kids won’t eat anything but cereal anyway. There’s also a fitness facility and two meeting rooms, and pets are allowed on the property ($15 surcharge). Rooms start at $179.
Price: From $179
