Montreal is already the epitome of chic in Canada, but it recently got even cooler; -5 C cooler, to be exact. The Snow Village, the first of its kind in North America, officially opened last month in Parc Jean-Drapeau on St. Helen’s Island. The 77,000-sq.-ft. attraction is made entirely of ice and snow. Try Eric Gonzales's hot Nordic menu at the ice restaurant, Pommery Ice Restaurant, housed in a giant igloo, or warm up with a drink at The Kube ice bar. There’s also a 30-room ice hotel, five polar igloos and an ice chapel that offers a fairytale-like wedding package. The village is open January to March, and its architecture and activities are modelled after a different city each year, with La Belle Ville as this year’s city. The Snow Village is situated just minutes from downtown Montreal.
