Gansevoort Turks and Caicos

The Gansevoort Turks and Caicos is worth the splurge, thanks to ultra-luxurious amenities and a stunning pool
I'm a beach person, always have been and always will be. But the pool at Gansevoort Turks and Caicos (A Wymara Resort) just about converted me to the other side.
It was that stunning.
When I checked in, my eyes immediately went to the sprawling, 7,000-square-foot infinity-edged pool, which is open to the hotel lobby. Iridescent blue tiles shimmered, mimicking the gorgeous waters of Grace Bay Beach that lies beyond the massive pool oasis.
It was all I could do to not jump in while fully clothed and still clutching my suitcase.
Dotted with palm trees, hardwood-decked islands float within the signature pool, and house comfy, crisp white loungers. The outer edges of the pool are ankle-deep, so those looking to beat the heat can lounge with their feet in the cool pool water.
In a word, spectacular.
About Gansevoort Turks and Caicos
Gansevoort made waves in the hotel scene with its first property in New York's Meatpacking District (a second New York location is slated to open this summer on Park Avenue) for its luxurious touches and minimalist style.
And its Turks and Caicos sibling has everything you should expect from the Gansevoort name: hip decor, gourmet Bagatelle restaurant, exhale spa and, of course, the signature pool. I found the vibe cool, yet relaxed—not overly stuffy.
Sleek Amenities

The Gansevoort Turks and Caicos nails guest accommodations right away. Each of the 91 rooms (ranging from studios to three-bedroom and penthouse suites) boast unobstructed views of beautiful Grace Bay Beach—a true rarity on the island.
But the rooms' appeal goes much further than the starring ocean view. The beds are plush and comfortable, with luxurious 400 thread count Frette bedding, while gorgeous beach photographs from local photographers adorn the wall.
The decor, as a whole, is muted in classic neutrals—all to give focus to the stunning ocean beyond your huge windows.
The usual amenities of upscale boutique hotels are there as well, including free WiFi, LCD televisions and Bose iPod docking stations.
The guest rooms' piece de resistance, however, has got to be the bathrooms. From the custom double-sinks to the oversize spa tub and sleek Kohler fixtures, it seems no detail was missed in making these bathrooms epitomize luxury.
The shower boasts the uber-chic WaterTile feature, making every cleaning experience feel like you're being showered with rain.
I don't know if I've ever bathed so much in my life than during my two days at the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos.
The Final Say
The Gansevoort Turks and Caicos was unlike any hotel I had ever stayed in. It was so modern, so chic that I almost felt like I was on an entirely different island than Providenciales.
For some, this hotel with such strong Miami vibes won't be the Turks and Caicos experience they desire. Fair enough.
But if you're looking to splurge for Turks and Caicos accommodations that have exceptional room amenities and hotel features, then the Gansevoort is a fabulous choice.
Rates start at $575.
