Glynmill Inn

Old English charm in the heart of the city

What started out as staff housing for a British company in the 1920s has turned into a green and white turreted gem almost hidden by surrounding trees just minutes from downtown. All staff should be so lucky! Check in and then get lost in the warren of hallways where you could end up in anything from an art gallery to a spacious bar.

The Ewing Gallery boasts of being western Newfoundland’s oldest art gallery. You can buy fine art of prominent provincial artists as well as have custom framing done. Deep in the back and bottom of the Glynmill Inn is King Henry’s Pub. Sit like royalty with comfy high-backed chairs that exist in abundance or sit at the long bar and meet some other regal suds sippers.

Venturing out of this Registered Heritage Structure, guests can nestle into the sturdy Adirondack style chairs placed along the red-tiled front veranda and listen to the wind sweep through the trees. Or go for a walk along the ample pathways just steps away and watch for swans in the Glynmill Inn Pond.  Also on site: an exercise room, a restaurant and a steakhouse.

Rooms from $102.95 to $190.
