High Tech Hotel Opens in NYC
YOTEL, a hotel inspired by luxury airline travel and Japanese capsule hotels, recently arrived in New York City in typical Starship Enterprise style.
Already a big hit with guests, Yobot is the six-metre hydraulic arm that guards a giant wall of luggage. Guests can check in using kiosks at Ground Control (the first floor). Other high-tech modcons include motorized beds that get stored upright, nifty easy-to-store tray tables and a yoga and cinema space that morphs into social spaces every evening. Yotel is also home to New York’s largest hotel terrace. Head up to the fourth floor and order the silky mango and ginger martinis. Catering to travellers looking for affordable luxury, it is the first Yotel property outside an airport and the largest hotel opening in New York City in 2011.
