Amongst the $1 billion in development being injected into the already lustrous heart of Scottsdale, few enterprises have settled into quite the same niche as this hotel.
An outpost of the Intercontinental Hotels Group’s newest brand, the Indigo aims to offer guests upscale accommodations without making them breaking the bank. The hotel’s 126 cozy rooms are characterized by cool, subdued hues and earth tone accents, as well as oversized beds, pillows, duvets and chairs.
Sleek amenities like an iPod-compatible, touch screen CD clock radio and giant flat screen TV, spa-inspired bathrooms and Aveda bath products are the norm. The unique room attributes aren’t for everyone—the rooms’ hardwood floors have some guests griping about heels on the ceiling, and the walls are a bit thin for others, given the wealth of bass-belting nightclubs within half a kilometre.
But regional flare is also one of the hotel’s draws, whether in the form of large, dramatic prints of distinctive desert flora throughout the hotel or the casual, pared-down gourmet menu in the minimalist pub/cafĂ© downstairs.
Rates start at US$139 per night.
