Mayan Ruins: Tulum

A look at Tulum, one of the sites of the ancient Mayan civilization

This spectacular late-Mayan trading centre in Quintana Roo is situated on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean—and a beach.

A 4.8-metre thick perimeter wall encloses the west-east alignment of frescoed observatories and temples decorated with supernatural serpents and deities that symbolize the rising sun. Daily trips from Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
