Participate in an entertaining soap-making demonstration and experience the origins of soap and skin care from the time of antiquity. You’ll learn how organic handmade cosmetics can improve beauty and cure your skin care problems, from acne or dry skin to cellulite and rosacea. You can also walk through the Soap Museum of Canada, which chronicles the history of hygiene through different historical artifacts like washbasins, chamber pots, old bathtubs and soap holders. A unique SoapArt collection by local artists is also on display, and the boutique has a bounty of different soaps, skin care products and scents made on site.
Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily in summer; English demonstrations take place at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and French at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon. – Fri. during off-season; demonstrations by appointment only. Admission is always free.
