Paradise on a Plate at Calgary's Broken Plate Restaurant

Broken Plate restaurant in Kensington serves up delicious Greek food in a great neighbourhood atmosphere.

 Mission:

1. Go to Calgary.

2. Find the hovel my university-attending son now calls home.

3. Shop for mega quantities of food and socks free of holes.

4. Visit the zoo to bring back some of his little boy excitement.

5. Wine and dine on something other than KD and beer.

6. Find a restaurant that will satisfy my discriminating palate and fill the limitless vault my son calls his stomach.

Mission Accomplished:

Hovel is located, Costco samples fills the vault, the animals at the zoo remind him of the last big party with his friends and we discover the Broken Plate restaurant in Kensington.

From the melt-in-your-mouth bechamel sauce, perched high on top of the best moussaka I have had in years, to the tender skewers of lamb souvlaki, the food did not disappoint.

The restaurant has a welcoming neighborhood feel and great service.  There are also locations in the Willow Park Village and on Ranchlands Boulevard.

Next mission...encourage son to graduate...return to Calgary to celebrate.
