They'll have you at towels that are softer than a baby’s bum – and yet there is so much more. Nestled in western Newfoundland’s verdant Humber Valley, the Visit Humber Valley Chalets range from two to six bedrooms, most with whirlpool jet tubs and some with hot tubs, pool tables or even foosball tables.
Wrapped around a golf course, just minutes from Marble Mountain Ski Resort and about halfway between Deer Lake and Corner Brook, the location is ideal and the setting is in the middle of the region’s nature.
Moose peeking into the well-windowed chalets are commonplace as are the friendly foxes, but don’t approach them – even if they approach you. Running trails nearby make for a healthy stay but it may be hard to pull yourself from the toasty fireplace and comfy couches in your chalet. And since groceries can be arranged beforehand, there’s really no reason to leave – maybe just to the edge of your wrap-around balcony with a warm cuppa or a cold beer to watch the wind tousle the trees. But you could probably do that from the couch too!
Chalets in low season from $200 to $620 and in high season from $240 to $740 – two night minimum stay.
