West Wetlands Park
This converted landfill is a great spot for a picnic lunch and family recreation
Taking a deep breath of fresh air in the West Wetlands Park today is quite significant. Less than 10 years ago, it was a landfill. But where dumpy mattresses and other sundries of human waste used to be, it’s now clean and green. Spanning 110 acres, the park is filled with native plants and trees, including cottonwoods, mesquites and willows. Family-friendly features include a boat launch, hummingbird garden, walking trails and picnic tables
