100 Yard Dash Flyer

I booked a WestJet flight from Calgary to Edmonton to attend a business meeting. I was taking a cab from downtown Edmonton and ran into a large traffic jam on the way to the airport. When I got to the airport I quickly ran to check in due to the fact the cut off time was closing shortly. As I ran feverishly through security with my laptop bag towards my flights departure gate and finally down the corridor to the flight. I was happy to see my flight did not leave without me!
As I entered the plane and walked towards my seat over the intercom I heard the following. "Please welcome Mrs. Laurie Shaw onto this flight she just ran the fastest 100 yards dash from Airport security in order to make this flight!
Instead of turning beet red from shear embarassment I decided to play along and clasped my hands over my head in victory and said thank you to everyone on the plan for their support.
This was the most memorable flight I have taken todate. I have not been late for a flight after this event.
