The Locals of Thunder Bay

Thunder Bay view

What makes Thunder Bay really unique is the people. My husband and I stopped here after a long flight and found the locals very talkative and welcoming.

Although it's the largest city in this region, it felt so small and friendly. We stopped at a local mall, and looking lost and tired had suggestions and kind words from everyone. In addition, we found the prices really low after coming from Vancouver.

Thunder Bay is unique in the sense that it really is a gateway to the great outdoors - driving out of the city along this stretch of road in Ontario was just beautiful. The city is a good starting place, but you need to get beyond it to see the true beauty of this region. We also enjoyed the views of the Sleeping Giant. A unique city that feels like a small town. Great prices at local restaurants.
