Travel Photo Contest Rules and Regulations

 

The up! magazine Travel Photo Contest (the “Contest”) is conducted by RedPoint Media Group Inc., with WestJet as a prize supplier. By entering this Contest, all entrants accept and agree to these Rules and Regulations:

 

1. To Enter

No Purchase Necessary. The Contest runs from May 1, 2011 at 12 a.m. MST to April 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Contest draws will be held on a monthly basis, with one entrant being awarded one prize per month. At the end of each month, a team of judges picks its favourite photo and let's you know why it was selected in the online photo club. To enter each Contest, go to www.upmagazine.com and fill out the entry form. Users may enter each contest a maximum of one time each day. Fraudulent, scripted or spammed entries will be removed.

 

In the event of a dispute over the identity of a Web entrant, entries will be deemed submitted by the authorized holder of the e-mail account. Entries become the property of up! magazine and will not be returned. It is possible that an already submitted entrant photo may be eligible for the grand prize or runner-up prize, in the event the photo is chosen by the judging panel at the end of the contest period.

Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received. One prize per household. 

2. Prizes 

All Prizes may not be redeemed or exchanged for cash or credit. All Prizes are non-transferable.  Monthly online photo winners will receive a $300.00 Nikon Coolpix S8100. Grand Prize winner: Nikon D7000 kit with 18-105mm lens (Value: $1,599.95). The two runners-up will walk away with a $500 camera (apiece), based on the newest available models.

 

3. Disclaimer

 

All Prizes must be accepted as awarded, without substitutions or transfers, and cannot be converted to cash. Any additional costs incurred in collecting and using a Prize are the winner’s and his/her guest’s responsibility.

4. Eligibility

The contest is open to all Canadian residents who are of age of majority, according to the law of the province in which they reside. The contest is not open to employees of RedPoint Media Group or WestJet, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, sponsors, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotion agencies, or to members of those individuals’ immediate families (spouse and parents, children and siblings and their spouses). Individuals living in the same household of such employees are also ineligible. Void where prohibited by law. Contest subject to all applicable provincial, federal, local laws and regulations. By participating, entrants agree to these official rules and accept decisions of RedPoint Media Group as final in all matters relating to the contest. By entering, all entrants permit RedPoint Media Group to use the collected information (first and last name, email, phone number and any photo(s) submitted) from The Contest for internal marketing and advertising purposes, including repurposing the entry data as online content.

5. To Claim Prize

Winners will be notified by e-mail and/or phone and will have to correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by a RedPoint Media Group representative. If no response to any such e-mail or telephone inquiry is made within seven days of the date on which it was first made, the drawn winner will be deemed to irrevocably forfeit the Prize and a new winning entry shall be drawn. All decisions of RedPoint Media Group representatives are final. Winners may be required to, and if ever asked hereby agrees to, complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and, where legal, a Publicity Release, prior to the issuance of travel documents. Winners’ guest(s), if any, must be either 18 or older or an immediate family member. The Winner and each guest(s) will be required to, and if ever asked hereby agrees to, execute a Liability Release and, a Publicity Release prior to the issuance of travel documents in order to be awarded the prize.

6. Limitation of Liability

WestJet, RedPoint Media Group and their respective sponsors, employees or contractors are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any contest related materials, or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries. Winners are responsible for payment of taxes on prizes and for any other expenses relating to the use of prizes. RedPoint Media Group reserves the right to cancel or modify any or all of the contests if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of any or all of the contests as determined by RedPoint Media Group in its sole discretion.
